What is an Autoresponder?
An Autoresponder some time ago was optional, but in today’s market it has become a game changer, a must have if you like. Autoresponder allows you to interact with your audience, current, and future customers. Keeping your customers engage it has become of utmost importance, timely responses or communications with your audience can create a devoted customer; while the opposite, the lack of responses or interaction, can significantly have an impact on your business success.
As a customer myself, when I find a small thank you note when I open the package of the jacket I order online, it makes me feel good. Believe it or not, just a small email with a thank you can leave an incredible impression, making a difference not only to first-time customers.
Keep this in mind:
“A person who feels appreciated will always do more than expected”

An appreciated customer will buy from you again, will recommend your products or services, will leave you a great review. All this translate to more business.
Autoresponder is nothing more than emails, but they are set in a way to make them automatic, that’s where the name comes from. To give you an example, when you buy something online, an email is automatically generated and sent to you with your order information, also another email is sent when the item is ship and, sometimes, another email is sent just to ask you if you are happy with what you bought. All this sequence of email is set with an autoresponder. Making your customer feel more “taking care of” with you which means a happy customer.
Now as many other services online, there are tons of companies offering autoresponder services.
Among the most common ones you can find:
- Constant Contact
- Vertical Response
- Mailer lite
These are only a few. Like I mentioned before you can find a lot of companies offering autoresponder services. Most of the offer free trials, this way you have the chance to use them and evaluate them to see if they fit your needs. Price range from free up to $50 per month. The price depends on variables like available features, the number of subscribers (the more you have the more you will have to pay) or email send limits.
Some autoresponders offer only list creating and management, emails, and newsletter designs, others add pop up notifications or landing pages, automatization, campaigns, A/B testing. If you are beginning to use this services chances are you have a very small amount of subscribers, which it may make sense start with a free account, but keep in mind sooner or later you will have to upgrade.
If you are starting the best thing you can do is to take advantage of the free trials, use this opportunity to test them, compare features, you don’t like one then try another, you can always take your list with you. I did exactly that until I found the service I liked. I know I sound repetitive but check to see what fits your needs.
Now If you ask me… among all the options out there I chose Mailer Lite. Why?
Well… after I tried some companies I decided to keep Mailerlite. It’s a simple software, easy to use and configure. They give you the option to create landing pages and pop-ups for your website. Out of all the features, the one that convinces me was the ability to create an automatization base on the interaction your subscriber has with the email you sent them, I think this is a great feature to have. A big plus is a chance you have to create a free account and no pay anything until you go over 1000 subscribers, making excellent to start. The downside for the free account is that you have to provide your website and they will check before approving your free account.
Another service I use is the one provided by BuilderAll, its call Mailing Boss. And it comes with all the features I mention, and the integration is made very easily. BuilderAll is one of my preferred tools, it has everything you need, very easy to use and a very affordable price. Learn more about BuilderAll In the article I posted.
